In which we cheer loudly!

April 23, 2012

We have been on tenterhooks for months waiting for the school allocations to be announced, as Button starts primary school in September.

We are lucky enough to have 3 primary schools near to us, and one of them is one of the best schools in the county with excellent OFSTED reports.

I fell in love with this school when I visited during their open evening last year.  It seems really creative, with an emphasis on all sorts activities, not just academic results.

I’ve been driving all my friends and family crazy with my wittering on about how we really, really want her to go to this school.

Today the announcements were made.

We got the school we wanted.

We are all very, very happy.

And we cheered very, very loudly!

Phew! Bet you’re relieved. Fab to hear that you got the school of your choice.Really important that the school doesn’t just focus on the academic stuff.Sadly too many schools these days do!

We are so thrilled. It seems such a lovely school and has a great reputation. I agree about the academic side…it is important but not every child is an A student and their other talents need to be nurtured and celebrated too.

I agree. I hated school with a passion and really don’t want Button and The Boy to have that experience. Hopefully this is the start of something really good for them. And that they’ll really enjoy!

It is. I think she’ll love this school. She already goes to nursery five mornings a week which she adores. And she’s definitely ready for the next step.
