Children’s yoked sweaters – Made by Ma!

February 19, 2015

IMG_0107Oh this post is long overdue.  These lovely sweaters were knitted by Ma before Christmas and it’s now February!

I don’t care how twee matching sweaters are, I simply can’t get enough of these munchkins in these sweaters.  Too adorable for words!

Three colours of Drops yarn in each sweater purchased from Wool Warehouse. Drops is my new favourite brand of yarn for kids clothes.  Great quality and great prices.  And it washes up super soft.  Which is important in this house because Boy will not wear a scratchy sweater.  And, to be fair, who can blame him!

Maybe Ma will add a comment to let you know exactly which yarn she used.  I, for the life of me, can’t remember.

Patterns are David and Starshine available for free on Ravelry.

I cannot tell you how much I want a yoked sweater for myself!

And a bit more sunshine.  Our grey northern light doesn’t lend itself to midwinter photography.  These have been fiddled with in iPhoto to make them vaguely presentable.

But still….cute sweaters and cute kids will shine through however lacking the skills of the photographer!

I love these sweaters. Colour work is very ‘in’ at the moment. Even doing a garment for myself with some fairisle. Agree with you about Drops yarns. Their merino wool is to die for. It’s on my list for Olympia 😀

Ooooooh Olympia. Très jaloux!!! Have a fabulous time and stock up on the Drops. They usually do great deals at the shows.

Your children are indeed very cute, amplified by the cuteness of these jumpers. I know what you mean about wanting one for yourself. They are fabulous. Beautifully knitted too. Xx

Ma has been knitting for ever and is really very good (although she never believes me when I tell her that!). I know I’m biased about the kids, but I really, really can’t help myself!

He’s an absolute shocker in front of the camera…it’s like Zoolander. That said, he’s a shocking flirt with the ladies too, so it’s only to be expected I suppose!

The children are adorable! And I love those sweaters, so stylish. Great pics too, so difficult in the winter. I’ve been using a daylight bulb as a light, which does help.

The wool I used for the jumpers is drops karisma. 100% wool.
It’s lovely to knit with. The pattern is on circular needles worked from the neck down.
