Back to school

September 27, 2011

The Chaos Monsters have been back a nursery (which they call school) for a couple of weeks now.You have no idea the esteem in which I hold their teachers!

Now it’s my turn to hit the books.Obviously the very best place to study is your local coffee shop.

Especially when it’s analysis of the English language that you’re stuck with.

It’s a dry topic.

It needs lubrication.

And even I can’t justify wine at 9.30am.

The only problem occurs when you pass the newsagents on the way to said study hall coffee shop

Oh temptation!

You have no idea. Thankfully this is the penultimate course. This time next year I’ll be done, and hopefully have my degree!

I’m studying for a degree in modern languages with the OU. It’s predominately French and English with a smattering of Italian thrown in too. Sadly I’m nowhere near as proficient in the French as I need to be but am muddling on through.

And, to paraphrase a popular book and new film, I don’t know how I do it. I spend a lot of my time freaking out to a greater or lesser degree, and my house is considerably less clean or stylish that I’d like!

Your children are so beautiful and they look so cute in their uniforms.

They are adorable…but don’t be fooled! They can be holy horrors too!
