For Valentines day the children went for a sleep over at Grandma’s and The Husband cooked us a romantic dinner.
We had home-made soda bread and home-made butter:
I can’t believe how simple butter is to make. We’re converted.
We had this with the wild boar sausage and rabbit cassoulet:
Followed by Valentines chocolate cake:
All washed down with chilled fizz:
A beautiful evening with my handsome husband.
Thank you, sweetheart.

Home made butter? Amazing, I never thought of making it, do you have a recipe? Looks like a lovely evening 🙂 xxx

The butter is really easy to make. You just need cream and a food mixer. We owe it all to The Fabulous Baker Brothers (all the recipes for the dinner were by them). The butter recipe is here:

Enjoy! It’s totally delicious.

Isn’t he a gem! We had a romantic dinner for two, lovingly prepared by myself. Steak au poivre followed by my individual guinness, chocolate and strawberry cake topped with a chocolate heart. Washed down with bubbley of course. Conversation was hardly romantic though as we discussed whether there is such a thing as a soul and what happens once you are dead!

Your dinner sounds amazing. Particularly the cake.
We discussed the children…again not overly romantic!
