Luna Lapin and a Cotton Tailed Rabbit

July 19, 2019

This is the story of two rabbits…Miss Luna Lapin will probably be familiar to you. Her Cotton Tailed friend less so. It’s also a tale of friendship past and hopefully friendship for the future.

The Avid Seamstress – Drop Sleeve Top – review

July 10, 2019

Have you seen the Drop Sleeve Top from The Avid Seamstress? I’m sure you’re familiar with Lisa and her lovely patterns. The Drop Sleeve Top (DST) is a free pattern she offers to subscribers. If you follow me on Instagram you’ll have seen me working on this pattern recently.

Whilst I love the Newlook top that I made last year, I wanted a simple top with slightly more elevated details. The DST has that.

Martian Rainbow Socks – Must Stash Yarns

June 25, 2019

I know this is turning into a blog about socks, but , Oh! this Martian Rainbow colourway!

You know how I love a good matching stripe, with a bonkers good colour story. This yarn from Must Stash Yarns has it all going on!

Burda 7368 review – DIY Blouse

April 30, 2019

Oh! Burda 7368 – how this blouse has tried and tested me.

Burda_7368

A combination of drapey, shifty fabric and a less than stellar pattern, plus a couple of big schoolgirl errors really pushed me to the edge with this.

Hand knits – pink stripy socks and a cardigan

April 6, 2019

Miss Minx has a style all her own! I love it and totally encourage her to experiment. If you can’t have fun with your clothes when you’re 11, you’ve no hope of enjoying them when you get older. Today she is rocking two hand knits. One from me, one from Grandma.

Arne & Carlos Moon Night Socks

March 23, 2019

Hello lovelies. Thanks for your patience whilst we (and when I say ‘we’ I obviously mean ‘Dave’) transferred the hosting of this site this week.

I was listening to the Love to Sew podcast this week (I’m seriously behind so am box-setting it) with the interview of Kate from The Foldline. One of the questions was along the lines of ‘what would you do differently’ and the answer was ‘marry a developer’ (I paraphrase, of course). After this weeks shenanigans I can heartily recommend a husband with mad tech skills. Without him I’m not sure this blog would exist, and I know for sure that my other site would be dead in the water.

Welcome

Image of a woman in her fifties taken from the shoulders up. She has grey shoulder length hair, brown eyes and a soft smile.

Hi there,
I'm Evie and I knit, stitch, spin and sew.
With varying degrees of success!
But always with my family around me in our little town in the North of England.
Grab a brew and stay a while.
