I’ve made Longfellow before and it was a huge hit. I think I can safely say that this is the most worn knit I’ve made for Dave. So much so that a second was requested, again in navy, everything the same as before except the length.

VIEW POSTSeptember kicked my butt…so it seems the best time to catch up and review the Galaxie sweater that I finished ages ago. (I’ve just checked Ravelry…I completed this on 20th October last year. This review is very overdue.)
I loved Galaxie the minute I set eyes on it. I love the cropped sleeve, the draped shape and the ribbed panel up the side. I also really like the neckline on the model. I’ll revisit that later.
VIEW POSTMy Stash Stories for 2019 began in January when I set out some goals for myself to clear the seemingly bottomless pile of fabric in my sewing room.
The three key goals for my stash this year were:
VIEW POSTThese adorable sheep in sweaters were a gift at least a year ago from my friend Liz. They’ve been lurking on my To Do list, until Ma asked if I’d any projects I needed help with. She was happy to knit these up for me.
They are really quite delightful! The larger sheep measures 13cm x 10cm.
VIEW POSTOh! I managed three whole posts before I got back to the subject of socks! But, these are not my normal socks. Nary a stripe to be seen. These lovelies are the Rye Light Socks by Tin Can Knits (TCK) and they are a delight!
I know this is turning into a blog about socks, but , Oh! this Martian Rainbow colourway!
You know how I love a good matching stripe, with a bonkers good colour story. This yarn from Must Stash Yarns has it all going on!
VIEW POSTI’ve finished another pair of socks for Dave. This time in Regia Arne & Carlos Design Line Summer Night Sock Yarn, using the usual Regia sock pattern.
VIEW POSTMiss Minx has a style all her own! I love it and totally encourage her to experiment. If you can’t have fun with your clothes when you’re 11, you’ve no hope of enjoying them when you get older. Today she is rocking two hand knits. One from me, one from Grandma.
Hello lovelies. Thanks for your patience whilst we (and when I say ‘we’ I obviously mean ‘Dave’) transferred the hosting of this site this week.
I was listening to the Love to Sew podcast this week (I’m seriously behind so am box-setting it) with the interview of Kate from The Foldline. One of the questions was along the lines of ‘what would you do differently’ and the answer was ‘marry a developer’ (I paraphrase, of course). After this weeks shenanigans I can heartily recommend a husband with mad tech skills. Without him I’m not sure this blog would exist, and I know for sure that my other site would be dead in the water.
