Picture perfect purple for a prickly party princess – FO 30 & 31/2012

December 16, 2012

Well we almost didn’t make it to the party today…but that was more to do with Madam Button von Stroppypants having a major attitude problem and Mummy foolishly rising to the bait!

However all was resolved 5 minutes before the allotted hour and following a quick change, our prickly party princess was ready to go.

You may remember this dress from That Bloody Wedding…the pattern is New Look 6881 and it’s a pattern I just love.

NL_6881LThe fabric is a poly duchesse from Abakhan lined with poly habotai also from Abakhan.

As the dress is sleeveless it really needed a cardigan and this is the finished Langston

Langston

knitted in Debbie Bliss Rialto DK.

I did a very cursory block of this cardigan hence the frill isn’t lying as flat as I’d like, but this doesn’t really detract from the overall loveliness of this little cardie.

As you probably know by now, I’ve never met a cable I didn’t like, and this is no exception.

Such a lovely pattern…one I can definitely see myself making again.

And madam had a lovely time at the party and is now, finally asleep.  Don’t be fooled by those big blue eyes!  I’m off for a very stiff drink 😉

Have to say Madam Button von Stroppypants does look rather chic in her fabulous dress. Does this mean the purple one was abandoned at the last minute or it that for a different party? Or perhaps that was the cause of the von Stroppypant-ness?!

Duh – it IS the purple dress! Clearly I´m a stiff drink ahead of you 😉

        Lol! And thank you.
I do love this dress…just need to work on von Stroppypants not being quite such a little madam. End-of-term-itis coupled with 9-sleeps-to-Christmas is not a great combination when you are 4!

Well she does look adorable, but there’s a glint in her eye that’s VERY familiar! Love the dress and the cardi is beautiful, the cable looks like a plait. Well done you!

That’s her world domination glint! I’m sure she’s in training for Mossad or something.
Thanks for the compliments though. Much appreciated.

She looks cute as a button! But what is it with little tykes and pre-party hissy fits?! Seems to be a universal phenomenon…

She is so very good at them too…and then switches to adorable in a heartbeat…little minx!

Several of the mums at the party said the same. It’s great for twirling too!

Well done you getting it done in time, it all looks lovely. The drama obviously didn’t diminish her ability to be the perfect angel in the photo shoot, lol

It was very 11th hour to get it done but I’m really pleased with the result.
She is a complete diva…stroppy drama queen one minute that perfect poser the next. Goodness knows how we’ll manage the teenage years! 😉

Oh lordy do I know about stoppypantses. I have two end of school term and year and 9 sleeps till Christmas and E V E R Y T H I N G is a drama. Tears. Huffs. Need hugs. No. Yes. Oh lordy.

So you have well and truly earned your drink (s).

PS I’ve gotta get this pattern for my girls. They’ll love it.

I feel your pain. Everything is the wrong thing at the moment…it’s crazy making. It would help if a certain wee small man slept better…but I think by the weekend everything will be done and all the parties will be finished and we can relax a little bit and just enjoy some family time.
Or duct tape them to chairs…one or the other!
And do get this pattern…it’s just adorable.

Thank you! I do think she likes it…she has a school Christmas party on Thursday and has already told me this is what she’s wearing. I may have a hit on my hands!

I’ve a feeling I’m going to have to do it all again in time for her birthday party in January…

There is a considerable amount of twirling in that dress…and fluffing of petticoats. She’s so girly!
