I LOVE this sweater.
I love the colour. I love the yarn. I love the pattern. I love the fit. I love every. single. thing. about it.
The pattern is Lemongrass by Joji Locatelli and it is a complete joy to knit. It’s a beautifully written pattern and I can’t recommend it enough. I had no project fatigue with this at all. I’d happily knit it again tomorrow!
That cable! Looks complex…is easy enough to knit in front of the TV!
I couldn’t find buttons to match this yarn. It’s not quite blue and not quite purple. So I stitched up the buttonholes and the sides together. Problem solved.
The yarn is Malabrigo Merino Worsted in the colourway Azul Bolita and the pictures do not do it justice at all. It’s deeply saturated and gently variegated. It’s soft and squishy and has beautiful drape. It’s a truly joyous yarn.
Be warned…it leaks colour like a mad thing whilst you’re knitting it. I had blue hands every night I knitted this.
But it’s worth it.
If only we weren’t heading into summer. I can’t wait for cooler weather so I can wear this all the time.
Beautiful colour. It really suits you K xXx
😀 Thank you so much! The colour is totally joyous!
Oh, you look fantastic Evie! What a gorgeous colour on you and the pattern is so chic. Excellent work. I can’t believe that any cable is “tv-friendly”! 🙂
😀 Thank you! Honestly, it’s the easiest cable in the world ever.
Ooh that is indeed very gorgeous and you look fabulous in it. I think it would probably suit me too….am very tempted!
Yes! You absolutely should make this. Perfect for chilly mountain days. And beach walks. Knit it! Knit it! Knit it! 😀
Hi Evie. What a lovely sweater – I especially like the colour and the side detail. Makes me want to knit something! 🙂 x
Thank you, Caroline. I always have some knitting on the go, even if it’s just socks for the hubby. There seem to be a lot of those recently 😉 x
I agree the colour is sensational and really suits you. It appears to be quite a challenging pattern but it needs to be challenging enough to sustain your interest but not too hard so that you mess it up and get discouraged, I guess? I have yet to complete one knitted garment.
Thank you.
I have to say that I was really impressed with this pattern. It might look tricky but the pattern is so beautifully written that it made the whole experience wonderful. How often do we get to say that? 😉
What a gorgeous jumper. Everything about it is lovely and that colour looks great on you. I really like the pattern. The side detail is a lovely touch. Xx
Thank you so much. I wasn’t sure the side detail would be flattering as I’m much more rotund than the models, but it’s gorgeous and makes me feel totally chic and slender, which is a pretty good result!
I can’t wear high necks myself but it is a lovely jumper. I assume the dye in the yarn won’t continue to run will it?
I don’t normally wear high necks but this one is so soft that I don’t feel choked. Oh and there’s the added bonus that it hides a couple of chins 😉
I did soak the finished sweater for quite some time in no-rinse wool wash and it leaked quite a bit into the water. It seems to have done the trick. I’d end up looking like a blueberry otherwise! Hahaha!
Your Lemongrass is gorgeous – I love the colour. I have worn mine lots and it always gets comments and compliments as it is an unusual design.
Enjoy your jumper on cool days ?
Thank you. It IS a great design. I really wasn’t sure as I was knitting it that it would flatter me, but on the one day I’ve worn it before the weather warmed up, the husband was very impressed. He tends towards brutally honest (thankfully) so I’ll take the win!
Just beautiful. The colour is just gorgeous on you 🙂
Thank you! The colour is even more gorgeous in real life.
