Greenstick

March 26, 2013

xray_edited-1The wibbly pink arrow points to the greenstick fracture in Button’s little finger…sustained this morning whilst partaking in the morning ritual, Chez Stitches, of racing round the house like loons before breakfast.

A quick trip to A&E was initially vetoed by the patient on account of her not wanting to miss out on the school trip to the petting farm.

Promises that I would drive her there myself if necessary resulted in a very exciting visit to the hospital which included two x-rays, having the offending finger strapped up, getting a photo of the x-ray for the family album, and more stickers proclaiming her bravery than you can shake a stick at…green or otherwise.

And we made it to school in time to catch the bus to the farm. Which means that, for today at least, I’m officially in the good books of one small person here.

But…I’ve got this sneaking feeling that this won’t be the last time I have to throw on some clothes and dash a child to the emergency room at 8am in the morning…

I’m surprised we’ve got to five without having our own chairs in A&E. They are such ruffians…don’t be fooled by those cute little faces!

Wow she went to school after going to the hospital? Admittedly the petting zoo is not exactly school really but that’s still pretty dedicated.

I am glad its only a little fracture. Heart in mouth as I type that :o)

She’d have gone to school without the farm visit!!! It’s a great school. That said, the lure of a tractor train ride and lambs was very, very strong. It is only a little fracture. Thankfully.

Ah, what a story she had to share with her friends today… 😉 Glad it’s minor, what a little trooper she is!

My Joe was exceptionally proud of breaking his little finger! I was less impressed I must say. Glad Button has taken it all in her stride!

And they simply don’t learn from it. Leaping off furniture like a demented thing this morning. I give up! 😉

Glad it was a minor emergency…lucky you didn’t have to wait to long and she made it on time for the school trip! The farm must be loads of fun!

      She had a blast!
We are very lucky that the hospital is about 3 miles away and we were one of 2 patients. A Friday night after the pubs close is a different kettle of fish, I’m sorry to say.

If she doesn’t end up in medicine I’ll be surprised. She is fascinated by gore. Eugh.
The Boy, on the other hand, is all high kicks and jazz hands. He’s a one boy episode of “Glee”! 😉
