Goodbye Kitty

May 17, 2013

Oh yes…having sat up till half past midnight the other night in a Revenge fuelled frenzy of determination to finish…the last Kitty has been stitched.

IMG_7985_edited-1I’m really rather pleased with how they turned out.

IMG_7982_edited-1And there are definitely enough of them!  This will be a really good sized quilt when its pieced with the patchwork blocks.

IMG_7975_edited-1It’s over to Ma now… 😮

I think it’s going to be fab! And plenty big enough for a 3 foot bed…with possibly enough for some matching cushions (fingers crossed!)

O.M.G.! You did it! They’re amazing!!! . I can’t wait to see it put together. What sort of backing fabric are you going to use?

Wow, they look amazing! What a fantastic effort- and aren’t you lucky to have such a helpful Ma? Can’t wait to see the finished quilt!

I am indeed. I’m loving that its a joint project for Button and although she won’t appreciate the work now, I’m hopeful that maybe in 20 years she will.

I’m confused. Did you actually draw all of those Hello Kitties and then stitch on top of the ink?! Holy cow. If you did that I am seriously impressed!

In fairness to Ma, she traced all the Kitties onto the fabric and then I stitched them. Just plain old backstitch. Not impressive at all!

I’m amazed by how much work that would be. And it’s so nice that you craft with your mum. My mother doesn’t know the first thing about sewing or knitting.

I love that we craft together. Ma has always knitted and sewn, and my maternal grandmother was the same. It’s great fun when we go on courses together, or, like today, for a little jaunt to the quilt shop.

Button is mad for Hello Kitty. I hope you’re right and it turns out well. It’s in safe hands with Ma!

You’re seriously a great mommy! I bow to your work! I’d love to know how you did it… Can’t wait to read what Button says when you give it to her

After the massive row I had with a very cheeky Button last night my “great mummy” title is seriously tarnished. 🙁 I think she’s going to like it, though.

They look great Evie! Can’t wait to see Button’s reaction once Ma has woven her magic into it.

Ma is making a simpler version for Button’s cousin and she absolutely loves that one, so I’m hopeful…
