Blue socks

October 14, 2015

Well, that’s an imaginative title!

Blue socks 3And the iPhone pictures continue.

But these socks have been finished for a while and I thought I’d share them before he wears them out!

Blue socks 2

As usual this is my standard Regia sock pattern and a mystery Regia yarn that I have no idea of the colourway.

Blue socks 1

So, all in all, a useless post…but another cosy pair of socks.

I always like looking at knitted socks, it looks like the pattern is matched too.

On another note, I was thinking of your two when I was watching Come Dancing this week, I’ve never watched it before this series, how good was Jay in that jive btw? I remember thinking, I bet the kids are loving this. Great stuff.

      The stripes do match… 😉

Strictly is a must see in our house but we’ve not watched last weeks (it’s recorded). I love the Jive, but it looks so very hard!

Ooh they’re gorgeous – I think I’ve asked you this before, so apologies from a forgetful middle aged woman…but any recommendations on a simple sock pattern (adult male or female) to get me going? See, not a useless post at all!

Less of the middle aged! I refuse to think of anything under 75 as middle aged!
      😉
This is the pattern I use and learned to knit socks with. It’s very straightforward, which is why I never deviate! Enjoy!

Sock knitting is faintly obsessive, no?

I can barely knit so looking at your wonderful socks always fills me with awe. I love the “mystery” colourway. It reminds me of the colours in the winter landscape when I took a trip up to Sutherland in the north of Scotland. The sky was so blue and all the hills those colours. You would have been very glad indeed of a lovely pair of wooly socks up there. 🙂 Xx

      Thank you!
They do have a very Scottish feel about them. And hand knitted socks are very cosy indeed. Perfect for chilly hills.

I love these socks. We once had a lovely German au pair who gave my three kids a pair each of these. I had never seen them before. It’s quite magical how the pattern comes together.

Wow…what a super au pair! Self-striping sock yarn is magical indeed.

[…] Then I moved on to making my first proper socks for Big Man to keep cosy in. Thanks to Evie at Pendle Stitches for sending me this great pattern. […]
