Yesterday was The Boy’s 4th birthday. It seems my babies aren’t babies any more!

IMG_7138_edited-1The heartbreakingly sad little boy who first came home to us is gone. I was watching some old video clips last week and the transformation is truly astonishing. Now he’s our family showman!

He has a finely tuned sense of humour and great comic timing.  He’s always singing and dancing and bouncing around.  He loves pranks and mischief and frequently laughs himself silly over some private joke.  It’s a joy to behold.

He has beautiful manners, is kind and thoughtful, and throws the most spectacular tantrums you’ve ever seen. They are a force of nature!

He has overcome such enormous challenges…his bravery and determination is breathtaking.

So, happy birthday, our wonderful, amazing little man.

I am proud and blessed to be your mummy.

I know…it’s flying by! I’d forgotten how sorrowful he was until I saw the video. He’s transformed. It’s wonderful.

happy birthday to the boy! He sounds quite a character- just the way he should be.
    And well done you, too.

Awww, thank you. “A character” is the way our kids are always described. 😉 It’s quite funny, but they are both so bold. I think this is a good thing.

They will always be your babies even when they have grown into either hulking big boys or willowy young ladies. Each stage of their lives is a wonder to behold and to cherish. Happy birthday little man. 🙂

Thank goodness. I’m loving watching them grow into such independent little people. They are a joy!

That’s wonderful to hear. You and your husband should give yourselves pats on the back too. I’m sure having a secure, loving family with parents that love you unconditionally goes a long way towards producing such wonderful, happy children. Congratulations all round! x

Thank you so much for this lovely comment. I think we get it wrong as often as we get it right…but they do know that we love them….as a family it’s something we are always telling each other. We are blessed!

Honestly, he is SUCH a doll! And to have wonderful manners at the age of 4 is admirable. I know some thirteen year olds I can’t say the same of 🙂

You have no idea…he’s just scrumptious and hilarious! I’m ever so proud of him…he carries bags for ladies and holds the door! It’s charming.
Would it be a 13 year old close to home? Button is a prima donna and needs more prompting!

Evie happy birthday (belatedly) to your wonderful little man. I do find it hard to believe that he is already four and the passage of time seems so fast these days. Still, he’s a treasure (aren’t they all?) and thank you for posting such lovely photos.
